A close and competitive contest was settled by a sharp catch, several big hits and some smart captaincy with Ixworth ultimately winning the match by 10 runs.
Having won the toss, Rebecca asked Woolpit to bat first: Eva took several early wickets and Oscar, fielding at square leg, moved quickly to take a brilliant catch. Despite bowling rather too many No Balls, we restricted the Woolpit batsmen to 33 runs in their 8 overs.
In our innings, opening batsman Olivia was again in great form, smashing 22 runs - including 2 sixes - in her two overs at the crease. Harrison and Harry also struck the ball well and Rebecca sensibly defended our lead in the last few overs.
Although we lost 4 wickets, our total of 43 runs was good enough to claim a second win in a row, and a place in the final round of this School Sports Partnership competition. It was another solid and disciplined team display – well played everyone!
